Gene Bridges成立于2000年，是一家從歐洲分子生物學(xué)實(shí)驗(yàn)室分離出來的獨(dú)營的公司，主要經(jīng)營其產(chǎn)品Red/ET重組技術(shù)的試劑盒。Red/ET重組是新近出現(xiàn)的一種基于λ噬菌體Red操縱子（Redα/Redβ/Redγ）和Rac噬菌體RecE/RecT重組系統(tǒng)的DNA工程技術(shù)。通過該技術(shù)可以簡單、快速地對(duì)任意大的DNA分子進(jìn)行插入、敲除、突變等多種修飾，而且還可對(duì) 長達(dá)80kb的DNA--片段進(jìn)行亞克隆。由于重組反應(yīng)的整個(gè)過程都是在大腸桿菌細(xì)胞內(nèi)部完成，因此不存在堿基突變危險(xiǎn)。該技術(shù)已被廣泛地用于基因組DNA， 如細(xì)菌人工染色體、大腸桿菌染色體等的遺傳修飾研究以及基因工程藥物的研究和開發(fā)中。
